Violin benefits enormously from daily practice. We suggest starting with short daily sessions of around 15 to 20 minutes, building up to 30 minutes or more as you advance. Quality practice matters more than quantity — your teacher will show you how.

Let's be honest — beginner violin isn't always easy on the ears! Daytime practice is generally well tolerated.

We love working with adult beginners! Many adults are surprised by how quickly they improve. Learning an instrument as an adult is deeply satisfying — come and experience it.

We recommend building a classical foundation, even if your goal is contemporary music. Even if your goal is folk, jazz, or contemporary music, proper classical technique will make you a better, more versatile violinist. Once the foundations are strong, any genre is open to you.
