The answer varies from student to student, but a rental is the safest way to get started. Kids grow fast, so renting avoids buying multiple instruments. We can point you toward stores with good rental and rent-to-own deals.

Practice is where real progress happens with violin. For beginners, 15 to 20 minutes a day is ideal, with longer sessions as you become more experienced. We always give clear practice goals after each lesson.

The violin does carry, especially when you're just starting out! Daytime practice is generally well tolerated.
