You'll likely be strumming recognisable tunes by the end of your first session! With consistent practice, you'll build a repertoire of songs quickly. It's one of the most satisfying instruments to start learning.

There are four main sizes, but most beginners start with soprano or concert. Soprano is the traditional size and works for most people. Concert or tenor may be more comfortable if you have larger fingers. We're happy to help you pick the right one — just ask at your first lesson.

The ukulele is one of the cheapest instruments to get started on. A solid beginner ukulele costs around $60 to $100, and a clip-on tuner or free tuning app completes your setup. We're happy to point you toward good-value options.
