Most students can play simple songs within their first lesson or two! The ukulele rewards practice almost immediately. There's no other instrument that gets you playing real music this quickly.

The soprano is the classic ukulele size — great for kids and adults alike. Concert is slightly larger with a fuller sound. Tenor is best for those with larger hands. We can help you choose the right size at your first lesson.

Not at all! Quality beginner ukuleles are very affordable, and you don't need an amplifier or any other equipment. The total startup cost is far less than most instruments.

Of course — many of our adult students had zero musical background when they started. Adults love the uke because progress is fast and the experience is fun. It's never too late to start — and the ukulele makes it easy.

The ukulele is far kinder to your fingers than guitar. You might experience minor tenderness at first, but nothing like steel-string guitars. Your fingers will adapt in no time.

Of course — the ukulele and singing are a natural combination! Our teachers are experienced at helping students combine strumming with vocals, and help you find the right key for your voice. Many of our students come to us specifically to learn strum-and-sing skills.

Starting on uke gives you a huge advantage when you move to guitar. Chord knowledge, strumming technique, and musical understanding all transfer. When you're ready, our guitar teachers will pick up right where your ukulele lessons left off.
