Soprano is the smallest and most traditional — perfect for beginners of all ages. Concert is slightly larger with a fuller sound. Tenor is best for those with larger hands. Your teacher will advise on the best fit for your hands and playing style.

The ukulele was practically made for adult beginners. You don't need any musical background whatsoever. Our adult students consistently tell us it's the most fun they've had learning something new. Come and join them — you'll fit right in.

Good news — the uke uses soft nylon strings, not steel. Any initial sensitivity fades quickly and is nothing like the calluses guitar players build. It's one of the reasons the uke is so popular with beginners.
