CLASSICAL & CONTEMPORARY

Flute Styles We Teach

Our flute lessons span a wide range of genres — from Baroque masterworks to jazz improvisation and beyond. We tailor your repertoire and technique work to your musical interests. Ensemble workshops are also available for students who want to learn collaborative playing.

Classical Flute

Master the beautiful classical repertoire from baroque through modern composers. Learn proper classical technique, interpretation, and performance practice. Perfect for students pursuing AMEB examinations or orchestral playing.

Contemporary & Popular Music

Explore flute in jazz, folk, world music, and contemporary settings. Learn improvisation, playing by ear, and how to contribute to modern musical ensembles.

Ensemble Playing

Through our workshops, flute students learn to play with other instruments, developing the listening skills and blend needed for chamber music and band settings.

    FAQS

    Flute Lessons FAQs

Most students start around age 8 to 10, when they have sufficient lung capacity, arm length, and hand size to hold and play the flute comfortably. Kids under 8 often find the flute physically difficult to manage. Feel free to ask us — we're happy to help you decide.
