At the Manhattan school of music our singing method is suited to the Modern and Contemporary style of singing techniques using the mouth and it's palate, vwel tones frm speech, and correct breathing techniques through the diaphragm and abdominal area. This technique trains and strengthens the voice and concentrates on such areas as range, projection and control, dictin, pronunciation and articulation, and confidence. Other areas include: vocal care and warm up, proper posture, and harmonies, how to do them and when to do them ect. This method of singing is suitable for all styles of Modern and Contemporary singing including: Pop, Rock, Soul, Jazz, heavy Metal, R&B, Country and Blues.

Singing In Motion

Manhattan singing in motion specialises in contemporary styles of dance, Jazz, Hip Hop and Funk. These classes are designed for one on one vocalists who are needing further presentation skills in movement to song for performances relating to Conerts, Live work, Singing Competitions, Video Music Clips ect.

Live Performance Facilities

A signification area of our complex is dedicated towards "live performance" and recording. This incorporates a stage performance area with a full Personal Address system including all vocal effects. Stage and mood lighting is also available to all students who want to experience a true ambience of a live performance situation. Parents and family are invited to observe the progress of students are encouraged and prepared to perform on stage in front of a live audince, furthering their confidence and performance skills. Furthermore, all stage performances are recorded live.

Music Recording and Production

Our studio is equipped with state of the art recording facilities. Digital recording is available to students or musicicians who are interested in recording their songs, preparing demo Cd's or interested in gaining experience within a recording enviroment.

Concerts

Concerts for vocal students are held towards the end of the year which give all parents, family and friends. The Grand Finale is the culmination of the students year is a most wxciting time for them, performing in front of a vast audience and putting into practic all the skills and knowledge learnt throughout the year. An enjoyable way to experience and observe the students and see the difference in the level of self-confidence and the performance skills acquired.

Master Class

Master Class are offered throughout the year and are conducted by professionals and guest speakers who are working and associated in the Music Industry. These seminars give students the opportunity to listen and learn from some of this country's leading vocalists and musicians. In many cases students will have the opportunity if they wish to sing for or with the guest artist. These classes are available to students, teachers and parents and will vary each term. Typica topics addressed in master classes include: Performance Anxiety, Song Writing/Compostions, What it takes to make it in the Music Industry, Self Belief. ect.

Workshops 

Do You Want To Sing In A Band?
At the Manhattan School Of Music all students are encouraged to interact with others in a band or group situation. Vocalists learn the importance of listening to other musicians in a band situation and gain a better understanding of co-operation and team work. Emphasis is placed on self-expression and creativity. Vocalists have the opportunity to express themselves and gain an undrstanding of their contribution to the  music they are performing adding to their own self belief. Vocalists also benfit from acquiring skills to rehearse and develop a repertoire for being able to perform live in an ensemble/band situation. Band Workshops further teach students to be professional and organised, punctual, and Attentive, Respect for others and their opinions, and Compromise. Band Workshops cover all styles of music includng, Mordern and Contemporary, Funk, Rhythm and Blues, Hard Rock, Sol and Heavy Metal. Band Work Shops are a fantastic introduction to vocalists who have performed in an ensemble/band situation. Students level of Co Operation, Confidence with others, Enthusiasm, Attentiveness and Concentration dose in fact increase. These are personal skills that will bebefit the student in any task they undertake through their career.

Agency Program

The Manhattan School Of Music acts as an agency in finding work for its tudents. All staff and teachers are professionals and currently working in the usic Industry. Their experience, Knowledge and contacts assist all students in gaining professional "breaks" in fields as diverse as Commercials, Live Bands, Solo Vcalist, Variety Spectaculars,Television and Talent Quests.
